Pittsburg Festival of the Arts

June 14

It’s summer and that means it’s almost time for the Pittsburg Festival of the Arts, a collaboration between the Bicknell Center, the Pittsburg State University Music Department, and local artists and musicians. This year, it will once again be live and in person! Here’s the lineup:

June 13 | 8:15 p.m. | The Summer Kicks Jazz Band will perform “Jazz at Dusk” on the front lawn of the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts. Bring your lawnchairs, blankets, and snacks!

June 14 | Noon | The Ortolani Family Band will perform a lunchtime concert of classic rock in the Evergy Courtyard at Block22 in Downtown Pittsburg. Bring a beverage from a nearby coffeehouse or lunch from home or a nearby restaurant!

June 14 | 6 p.m. | The grand opening and reception for the Paula Giltner exhibit in the Bicknell Center art gallery.

June 14 | 7 p.m. | Duo Capriccioso will perform “Latin Flair” in the Bicknell Center lobby while artists Jesse McCormick, Nina Johnston, and Margie Moss, paint in the gallery.

June 15 | 7 p.m. | Clara & The Mighty B’s will perform works from composer Clara Schumann and Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms in the Bicknell Center performance hall.

June 16 | Noon | The Pittsburg Brass Quintet will perform a lunchtime concert of brass arrangements in the Evergy Courtyard at Block22 in Downtown Pittsburg. Bring a beverage from a nearby coffeehouse or lunch from home or a nearby restaurant!

June 16 | 7 p.m. | The Solo & Chamber Ensemble will perform “Kaleidoscope of Styles” in the Bicknell Center performance hall.

June 17 | 7 p.m. | Local country singer Tim Nowell will perform a lunchtime concert of country music in the Evergy Courtyard at Block22 in Downtown Pittsburg. Bring a beverage from a nearby coffeehouse or lunch from home or a nearby restaurant!

June 18 | Noon | The Harmony Hill String Band will perform a lunchtime concert of gospel, bluegrass, Celtic, and old-time style music in the Evergy Courtyard at Block22 in Downtown Pittsburg. Bring a beverage from a nearby coffeehouse or lunch from home or a nearby restaurant!

June 18 | 7 p.m. | It’s movie night! The Bicknell Center will present two classic movies, “Road to Bali” and “A Royal Wedding,” on the jumbo screen in our performance hall.

June 19 | Noon | The Solo & Chamber Ensemble will perform “Grand Finale” in the Sharon K. Dean Recital Hall in McCray Hall to conclude the week!

All events are free and open to the public! Bottled water is welcome in the Bicknell Center performance hall; snacks and other drinks are allowed only in the outdoor venues.
