The Pittsburg Treble Clef Club, together with the Bicknell Family Center for the Arts, will be presenting its Premier Piano Festival and Competition July 13, 14, 15 2017.
On Saturday, July 15th we will hold the piano competition for pianists ages 7-30.
Scholarships to be awarded in the junior category (ages 7-12) will be $100, $75, and $50 for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place respectively.
In the senior category (ages 13-18) the amount of the scholarships awarded will be $500, $250, and $100.
The prizes to be awarded in the Young Artists Competition (ages 18-30) will be $1000, $750, and $500.
Winners in each category will appear at the final concert on Saturday night.
The festival will be presenting four very distinguished pianists over a three-night period.
On Thursday, July 13th, 7:30 PM Barbara York will present a Piano Chamber concert featuring her original compositions for brass instruments and piano.
The Friday, July 14th, 7:30 PM Mr. Robert Ensor will present a Jazz Piano concert.
The Saturday, July 15th, 7:30 PM Gala Event will begin with the three winners of each division of the piano competitions. Followed by a fantastic piano performance of Pittsburg’s own world renown Dr. Reena Berger Natenberg. And concluding with the internationally acclaimed pianist Mr. Darius Lim from Singapore, performing two of his original compositions.
Mr. Lim will be joined by the Bells of the Balkans, the Festival women’s choir, the festival string quartet, and the festival percussion.
